Double-Dipping Leads to $60,116 Restitution Order

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced that a man who worked the entire time he was receiving workers' compensation benefits was ordered to pay $60,116 in restitution. Juan P. Delgado pleaded guilty to a malicious mischief felony charge last week and admitted to unlawfully receiving work comp benefits from April 2019 to January 2022. Delgado was working as a roofer in Tacoma when he fell more than 6 feet from a ladder, injuring his back, ankle and knee in March 2019.
