L&I: Dry Cleaner Admits to Stealing Comp Benefits

The owner of a dry cleaner in Olympia must pay more than $21,000 in restitution after admitting to stealing workers’ compensation benefits, the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced. Byung Sung Kang, 54, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to third-degree theft, a gross misdemeanor. The department said Kang received work comp benefits for more than 14 months when he claimed his work injury was so severe that it prevented him from working.
