The Utah Senate voted 26-0 on Thursday in favor of a measure that would extend the deadline for the final report from a task force that studies the compensability of mental health claims for first responders.
House Bill 25, by Rep. Karen Kwan, D-Murray, would extend the deadline to 2025.
Utah’s House of Representatives unanimously approved HB 25 last month. The bill will now head to Gov. Spencer Cox’s desk.
Utah’s legislative session ends March 5. Cox will have until March 25 to sign any bills that were passed during this year’s session.
