Survey: Prescription Drug Use Impacting Workplaces

Seventy-one percent of U.S. employers have felt the direct impact of prescription drug misuse in their workplaces, according to results of a survey released by the National Safety Council. Fifteen percent of respondents said they were aware of an injury or near miss at work related to prescription drug use; 10% said they were aware of an overdose among their workforce; and 39% reported employees had missed work due to prescription drug use.
