What was once seen as a pedestrian job and a virtually automatic confirmation process has turned into anything but in the highly charged world of Illinois workers' compensation politics.
Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner last week reappointed 11 arbitrators to the state Workers’ Compensation Commission. But state senators and attorneys on both sides of the aisle now say there’s no guarantee they’ll be confirmed by the Senate when it convenes in November.
