The 5,000 independent medical-review cases Maximus Federal Services says are missing medical records could have nothing to do with California claims administrators shirking their responsibilities.
WorkCompCentral reported Friday that an emailed report from Maximus shows 6,743 IMR cases have missing medical records. While claims administrators are required to submit records within 15 days of receiving the notice that a case has been accepted, there are 5,021 cases on which records are at least 90 days late, according to that report.
