The California Division of Workers’ Compensation posted an order updating the lower-back disorder section of the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule.
The order adopts the Feb. 13, 2020, update to the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine’s “Low Back Disorders Guideline.”
Recommendations in the MTUS are presumptively correct on the issues of extent and scope of medical treatment.
The new lower-back guidelines apply for services provided on or after Tuesday.
