Fugitive Lawyer in $550 Million Fraud Case Sentenced

A lawyer who fled to Honduras after pleading guilty last year to participating in a $550 million Social Security fraud scheme was sentenced Friday to 15 years in prison for his escape and related crimes. The 15-year sentence for Eric Christopher Conn, 58, of Pikeville, Kentucky, will run consecutively to a previously issued 12-year sentence for his role in what’s been called the largest fraud scheme in the history of the Social Security Administration.
