The Canadian private equity investment firm Onex Corp. is in advanced talks to buy York Risk Services Group, a third-party claims management firm for general liability and workers’ compensation lines, for between $1.3 billion and $1.5 billion, Reuters has reported.
Arby Partners, the private equity firm that owns York, several months ago hired Morgan Stanley’s James Gorman to explore a possible sale of the company, according to the website Wealth-X.
Onex is led by billionaire Gerry Schwartz, while Arby is led by Royce Yudkoff and Andrew Banks.
