Divided Supreme Court Upholds Award for Retail Worker's 'Gillette' Injury

A divided Minnesota Supreme Court upheld an award of benefits for a retail worker whose repetitive trauma injuries to her knee aggravated her osteoarthritis to the point of disablement. Neomi Schmidt underwent left knee surgery in 1993, 12 years before she began working for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in 2005. In 2011, Schmidt saw a doctor with complaints of pain in her left knee.
