Labor Org Owners Sentenced to Prison for Fraud Scheme

The owners of a labor organization convicted of workers’ compensation and pension fraud in 2024 were sentenced to two to five years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California. Marcus Asay, 69, was sentenced to five years in prison, and Antonio Gastelum, 53, was sentenced to two years. A federal jury in June 2024 convicted Asay, Gastelum and their company, American Labor Alliance.
