The Iowa Court of Appeals tossed tort claims against co-employees of a worker who was killed while repairing a railroad bridge, as well as against the railway. Case: Estate of Zdroik v. Iowa Southern Railway Co., No. 20-0233, 10/06/2021, published. Facts: Anthony Zdroik worked for Sheet Piling Services LLC. The company dispatched Zdroik and two other employees to repair a railroad bridge belonging to Iowa Southern Railroad Co. The crew used a grapple and sling to transfer railroad ties to a crane truck.
