Agency Tracking COVID Claims, Assigns New Code for FROI

The Michigan Workers' Disability Compensation Agency said it has begun tracking COVID-19 claims and has created a new injury code for first reports of injury. The agency said in an email that when employers file a form WC-100 for basic reports of injury, and form WC-701 for notice of benefits, specific wording should now be included. WC-100, section III, line 37 should clearly state if the cause of injury is related to a COVID-19 illness.
