A rice mill worker accused of working as a bartender while receiving workers’ compensation benefits was placed on summary probation for 12 months and ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution, the California Department of Insurance announced.
Brooke Gomez, 29, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor fraud charge April 26 and was sentenced in Colusa County Superior Court. In addition to probation and restitution, she was also fined $630.
