The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud is asking Florida lawmakers to close a loophole that allows insurers to deny benefits to severely injured undocumented workers because of a legal technicality.
Dennis Jay, executive director of the Washington-based coalition, blogged Monday that denying benefits because the worker used a fake Social Security number “paints insurers as uncaring, greedy corporations that allow human suffering to make a buck.”
