Supreme Court Finds DOT Immune From Civil Liability for School Employee's Fatal Injuries

The Mississippi Supreme Court determined that the state Department of Transportation was entitled to immunity from civil liability for the death of an employee of another government entity who had received workers’ compensation benefits for his fatal injuries. Johnny Patterson worked for the Lee County School District as a school resource officer.
