A Florida appellate court ruled that an employer was entitled to select a new treatment provider after a judge ruled that the first doctor was too far from the worker’s home.

Facts: James Harman suffered a burn injury to his right foot in 2017 while working for Merchant Transport. The company authorized treatment with several doctors, including Dr. Angelos Koutsonikolis, who treated Harman for a rash.
On Feb. 7, 2019, Harman requested a one-time change in allergists, from Koutsonikolis to Dr. William Tuer.
