Six lawmakers in the Georgia House of Representatives have filed a presumption bill for firefighters with identical provisions to a bill already filed in the Senate.
House Bill 216 would give firefighters a rebuttable presumption that certain medical conditions are occupational diseases contracted in the line of duty. It stipulates presumption under the same circumstances as Senate Bill 29, which gives firefighters the presumption of an occupational disease for:
Hypertension.
Heart disease.
Respiratory disease.
