The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has posted notice of its intent to review a rule on reimbursement for health and behavior assessment and intervention (HBAI) services.
The services are offered to injured workers who may have behavioral barriers to their recovery.
Rule 4123-6-33 would make workers eligible for the services if:
They are not progressing with their injury after their initial course of treatment.
Their healing process appears to be delayed due to their behavior.
They have the capacity to understand and respond meaningfully during a face-to-face encounter.
