The maximum weekly compensation for injured workers in Florida increases by $21 to $863 from Jan. 1, the Division of Workers' Compensation announced.
The amount is based on the statewide average weekly wage, determined by Department of Economic Opportunity to be $862.51 for the four quarters ending June 30, 2015.
It applies to anyone who suffers a work related injury or illness after Jan. 1. It was $842 in 2014. The minimum rate remains at $20, where it has been since 1972.
