The California Department of Insurance will hold a telephonic hearing July 29 to gather testimony on the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau’s 2021 regulatory filing.
The WCIRB in June submitted its annual regulatory filing that, among other things, proposes a new classification code for telecommuters. The WCIRB hasn’t historically had a code that applied exclusively to people who are working from home, and it was forced to seek emergency rules allowing employers who sent people home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to use the class code for clerical workers.
