The owners of a 7-Eleven could not have foreseen their employee getting shot dead outside the store on the day he was scheduled to testify against an accused robber, the 2nd District Court of Appeals decided in an unpublished opinion released Tuesday.
Because they could not have expected it, the question of whether they were negligent in failing to hire a security guard to protect the Los Angeles County convenience store was moot, the court held.
