1st DCA Reverses JCC for 3rd Time

Florida's 1st District Court of Appeal on Wednesday reversed a judge of compensation claims for the third time in less than a year for improperly denying approval of a settlement agreement providing a fee award to a claimants' attorney. The parties involved in Hershal Brady's comp claim against Cypress Communications of South Florida had agreed that his attorney ought to receive a $1,500 fee for his work in obtaining payment of a disputed doctor's bill as part of the settlement of his case.
