In addition to the $8.8 million a grand jury alleges Sam Solakyan paid to a marketing and scheduling company for referring work comp patients to his imaging businesses, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in a new court filing, claims he also made one payment directly to an unnamed provider.
Solakyan, who was arrested in September on a 12-count indictment accusing him of generating $284 million in bills for ancillary medical services procured through the payment of bribes or kickbacks, on Oct. 22 filed a motion for discovery seeking documents and information relating to the indictment.
