Nine Arrested in $24.6 Million Interpreter Billing Scheme

The California Department of Insurance on Thursday reported nine people were arrested for allegedly submitting to workers' compensation carriers and self-insured employers more than $24.6 million in fraudulent bills for interpreting services. According to the Department of Insurance, G&G Interpreting billed for translation services provided in clinics where the majority of the staff spoke Spanish, though there was no need for translation services.
