The California Department of Insurance on Thursday reported nine people were arrested for allegedly submitting to workers' compensation carriers and self-insured employers more than $24.6 million in fraudulent bills for interpreting services.
According to the Department of Insurance, G&G Interpreting billed for translation services provided in clinics where the majority of the staff spoke Spanish, though there was no need for translation services. In other cases, the company billed for services at clinics where treating physicians spoke fluent Spanish.
