A bill introduced in the Montana Legislature would increase workers’ compensation death benefits for families of those who die on the job, Montana Public Radio reported.
House Bill 198, by Rep. Derek Harvey, D-Butte, would raise the maximum amount families could get, from $4,000 to $10,000, MTPR reported.
Roughly 10 workers’ comp cases per year involve deaths in Montana, Harvey said during a House Business and Labor Committee meeting on Wednesday.
