The Indiana legislature has approved a bill that guarantees faster payment of benefits and sets a new method of determining compensation for vision loss.
Senate Bill 269 passed the House on Monday by a vote of 95-0, a month after it passed the Senate 50-0. Authored by Sen. Jon Ford, R-Terre Haute, the bill would require employers or insurers to file a report showing benefits have been paid. The report would have to be filed within 14 days of the date the first installment is due.
Current law gives employers 15 days to file only an agreement about compensation benefits.
