Moran Says Lien Problem Threatens Entire System

By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefCOMMERCE, Calif. -- The head of the Division of Workers' Compensation said Monday the state needs to fix the lien problem plaguing Southern California to prevent the entire workers' comp system from failing, and the fix might require "draconian measures" that some people will not like. For now, the lien issue is localized in Southern California, DWC Administrative Director Rosa Moran told members of the Employers' Fraud Task Force at a lunch meeting at Steve's Steak House in Commerce. But she said she's worried about the problem "creeping"...
