A Utah state lawmaker has introduced legislation that would end the governor's authority to appoint members to the board of directors of the state Workers' Compensation Fund and allow policyholders to elect members instead. Senate Bill 63 by Curtis S. Bramble, R-Provo, would also amend the current statute to allow the Workers' Compensation Fund to sell reinsurance or act as a reinsurance intermediary for medical or disability costs assumed by Utah self-insured employers.
