Man Gets 4 Months in Jail After Comp Fraud Conviction

A Ventura man was sentenced Monday to 120 days in jail after being convicted of workers’ compensation fraud, prosecutors said. Sergio Ordonez, 32, pleaded guilty to making false statements to obtain workers’ comp benefits, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Ordonez also was placed on summary probation for two years. He has paid full restitution of more than $26,000 to Falls Lake Fire & Casualty Insurance Co., according to the District Attorney’s Office.
