DWC Adopts Codes for COVID-19

The California Division of Workers’ Compensation adopted cause-of-injury and nature-of-injury codes for COVID-19 claims reporting. The Workers’ Compensation Information System was modified to accept the new cause-of-injury code “83” for pandemics and new nature-of-injury code “83” for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
