Another court has found that air ambulances cannot be restrained by workers’ compensation fee schedules. But questions remain about what, if anything, can set the prices of interstate air carriers, and it could be years before the matter is settled.
In the latest ruling, Air Evac EMS vs. Sullivan, the federal court for the Western District of Texas leveled a permanent injunction against the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation, barring it from applying restrictive fee schedules to medical helicopter flights.
