The California Insurance Guarantee Association would pay workers’ compensation benefits to state residents injured while working in another state for an employer that had coverage through an insurer that has since become insolvent, under a recently amended bill.
Language relating to CIGA was inserted into Assembly Bill 3012 on Wednesday. As introduced, the bill by Assemblyman Jim Wood, D-Santa Rosa, focused on expanding and clarifying policyholder rights with regard to wildfire claims.
