Helmets Gain Traction as Head Protection for Construction Workers

As brain injuries draw increased attention in workers’ comp, a growing number of construction companies are trying out helmets rather than hard hats as a way to better protect workers’ heads. Attorney Howard Mavity, a partner with Fisher Phillips in Atlanta, said he recently met with representatives of three general contractors that have switched their workers to safety helmets instead of hard hats.
