Employers who are late filing a Form 60, 61 or 63 could be on the hook for hundreds of dollars under the North Carolina Industrial Commission's new sanctions policy.
Under the policy, employers and carriers who fail to file the form within 30 days of receiving notice of a claim will be sanctioned $400 (up from $200).
They have 30 days from the receipt of the sanction to pay it and file the delinquent form. If they don't, they're on the hook for another $200.
And if they don't pay the extra $200 within 30 days, it increases to $400 starting Dec. 1.
