The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has asked California Gov. Gavin Newsom to take a narrow, limited approach if he decides to issue an executive order regarding COVID-19 presumptions for essential and frontline workers.
In a letter submitted Wednesday to Newsom’s office, Chamber Senior Vice President Glenn Spencer suggests that any workers’ compensation coverage for the coronavirus should be offset by paid leave provided by existing federal or state benefits.
