CWCI Reports Drop in Independent Medical Review

The number of independent medical review determination letters fell to a five-year low in 2019 and continued to fall through the first quarter of 2020, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute reported. The 163,899 IMR determination letters issued in 2019 was down 11.2% compared to the 184,735 issued in 2018.
