AIG Names Peter Zaffino Global Chief Operating Officer

American International Group Inc. has appointed Peter Zaffino as executive vice president and global chief operating officer, effective Aug. 1. Zaffino joins AIG after serving as chief executive officer of Marsh LLC, a global insurance brokerage, risk management firm and a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Cos. He has also been chairman of Marsh & McLennan’s risk and insurance services segment since 2015, and a member of the company’s executive committee since 2008.
