The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California will submit a regulatory filing that includes a provision to start including COVID-19 claims in employers’ experience rating later this year.
The WCIRB’s Governing Committee on Wednesday unanimously approved the filing and proposed revisions to the Unit Statistical Reporting Plan and Experience Rating Plan effective Sept. 1.
WCIRB attorney Kristen Marsh said the proposal would include COVID-19 claims with an accident date on or after Sept. 1 in experience rating.
