A Brazilian beer maker won a suit against his former employer, arguing that years of 'tasting' up to 12 liters (3.2 gallons) a day had turned him into an alcoholic. A top Brazilian court ordered Brahma to pay damages to its former senior brewer Bernd Naveke, who had spent 20 years at Brahma's service before being forced to retire at the age of 40 due to his drinking problem.
