Rules Committee Schedules Confirmation Hearing for WCAB Chairwoman

The California Senate Rules Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board Chairwoman Katherine Zalewski on Jan. 12. Gov. Gavin Newsom reappointed Zalewski to a six-year term in May. She was appointed to the board in 2014 and has served as chairwoman since 2017. Before joining the WCAB, Zalewski served as chief counsel at the Department of Industrial Relations from 2012-2014.
