Express Scripts Sued by Compounding Pharmacies

Six compounding pharmacies have filed a lawsuit in federal court against Express Scripts, accusing the company and other pharmacy benefit managers of conspiring to boycott the pharmacies to put them out of business and reduce competition. Among the accusations are that Express Scripts drastically reduced the reimbursement for compounded drugs, created obstacles for the pharmacies to obtain reimbursement, conducted excessive audits of the pharmacies, and restricted or eliminated mail-order delivery of compounds.
