Louisiana lawmakers are proposing to make medical reimbursement rates comparable to what workers' compensation systems in neighboring states pay and to adopt national evidence-based treatment guidelines.
HB 819 would require the state to ditch the Medical Treatment Guidelines developed by the Louisiana Workforce Commission and adopt the Official Disability Guidelines by MCG as its evidence-based medical treatment guidelines.
The bill would require providers to establish necessity through other credible, evidence-based sources for treatments not covered by the ODG guidelines.
