AmTrust Financial Services Inc. has completed its acquisition of AmeriHealth Casualty Insurance Co., a provider of workers' compensation insurance in the Mid-Atlantic region.
AmTrust bought AmeriHealth from Philadelphia-based Independence Health Group Inc. for $92.8 million in cash, AmTrust announced on Wednesday.
AmeriHealth Casualty serves small to medium-sized businesses and municipalities, generating gross written premium of about $116 million in 2015. With the acquisition, AmTrust said it is one of the largest workers' compensation carriers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
