Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch filed a lawsuit accusing pharmacy benefit managers of contributing to the oversupply of opioids in the state and fueling an illegal secondary market.
The complaint filed Aug. 29 claims that the pharmacy benefit managers were not mere bystanders in the opioid crisis but were active participants that prioritized profits over safety and engaged in a clandestine scheme to increase the sales of the drugs.
