The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation board of directors approved a 9% average cut in workers' compensation rates for local government employers.
Townships will see the largest decrease at 12.7%, followed by villages which will see rates go down 8.8% under the 2016 rates the board approved Thursday. School districts will see a 7.9% reduction in rates, cities a 6.9% cut and counties 6.2%.
BWC said in a statement it reduced rates for nearly 4,000 local government employers by a cumulative 26.5% over the past five years.
