The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation will hold a stakeholder meeting on Dec. 16 to find out what it will take to make the switch to the latest electronic claims reporting standard.
The division has informally proposed to upgrade from the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions' electronic data interchange (EDI) standard 1, which the DWC has adhered to since 1994, to the 3.1 claims reporting standard.
The new standard requires much more data in claims reporting from insurers.
