The Pennsylvania Insurance Department is accepting public comment on the proposed merger of Donegal Mutual Insurance Co. with Mountain States Mutual Casualty Co.
Donegal Mutual and Mountain States announced last month that they had signed an agreement to merge. Pending regulatory and policyholder approvals, Donegal Mutual would be the surviving company in the merger, and Mountain States' insurance subsidiaries — Mountain States Indemnity Co. and Mountain States Commercial Insurance Co. — would become subsidiaries of Donegal Mutual.
