Governor Swears in Comp Court Judge

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee swore in five new judges, including an associate on the Workers’ Compensation Court, according to a report by the Providence Journal.

McKee on Monday swore in George J. Lazieh as associate judge of the Workers' Compensation Court.

Lazieh has more than three decades of criminal, civil and workers’ compensation trial experience, according to McKee's office.

He fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Diane Connor.

The position pays $160,317 a year.

The governor also swore in judges for the state Superior, Family and District courts.
