Surgeon General Report Notes Gaps in Addiction Treatment

In the waning days of the Obama administration, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy has released a report on drug and alcohol addiction. The report discusses misuse of alcohol, illicit drugs and prescription medications. It includes sections on the science of substance use disorders as well as the roles of prevention, treatment, recovery and health systems.
